We have played quite a few gigs recently and it has certainly been a lot of fun.
Now we are rehearsing for the grand finale of our spring and summer exercises: our show at Roskilde Festival on Mon. July 2nd at 3 p.m. We just cannot wait for that one.
Photos from our shows at Rust - Copenhagen, Musikcaféen - Århus and from last nights show at Vesterbro Festival are now online (please don't mind the fact that Martin is wearing the same shirt on two ocassions - he has promised to get something new for our next show).
May 20th 2007 DD on the radio
Tonight Asbjørn and Mikkel will
appear on Danish national radio show Public Søndag with Carsten Holm as we have been invited to do a little interview regarding our debut release.
Tune in via the website netplayer at around 10 p.m. or find your old school FM radio frequency here (Danish only).
Last night's release party was a blast! Thanks for showing up and making the night memorable.
May 11th 2007 Normandie vinyl competition
Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet has launched a Decorate. Decorate. competition on their website. Prizes are 5 copies of our limited Normandie LP-release.
All you have to do is answer the question 'When did DD rehearse as a group for the first time?' correctly.
Options are:
a) January 2001 or
b) January 2006
That shouldn't be hard. The answer can be found on the competition page (in Danish) or in our very own press section. Also, Asbjørn was interviewed by the newspaper (also in Danish).
Naturally that reveals the fact that winners have been chosen in the grand LP cover design competition. We are forever grateful for your contributions and the interest that so many people have shown in our project.
All submissions including the winners will be posted on the site very soon.
Thanks again - all the best!
Decorate. Decorate.

Apr. 28th 2007 Radio rotation + new video
Danish national radio P3 has taken our single Karen from the forthcoming album Normandie in to rotation which is really nice. So tune in and take listen. You can hear live streaming from the radio at this link (press the NetRadio) and read about the song at this link.
Furthermore we are proud to present a brand new video for our song Surname of Copenhagen. Both song and video can be found on our forthcoming release.
We are utterly amazed and thankful for the opportunity to play the most legendary festival in Europe. We have all been steady guests at the festival for decades (yes, decades) and we can not wait to play alongside great danish bands such as Death By Kite, 1234 and Choir of Young Believers.
Read about the festival and get the programme in its entirety at this link. Bands to watch this year will be The National (US), Grizzly Bear (US), Arcade Fire (CAN), Beirut (US) and Cansei De Ser Sexy (BR).
Apr. 19th 2007 Tough choices: LP cover artworks
Everyone who has contributed and sent us submissions for our forthcoming LP artwork: Thank you so much for your time, interest, work, creativity... thank you!
Now, you have all put us to work as we will decide on what artworks
we are going to use very soon. The choice HAS NOT YET BEEN MADE so hurry, hurry if you feel like showing us your graphic skills!
Thanks again. We are blown away by the fact that so many people cared enough to spend time on our little project.
Honoured and grateful - D.D.
Mar. 21st 2007 Debut release
Decorate. Decorate. is proud to announce that our debut release entitled 'Normandie' will be released in Denmark on Compact Disc and LP vinyl on May 21st by the newly started independent Danish record label Tactic Records.
Tactic Records may be a new player on the Danish music scene but the people behind the label are certainly not! The label is being run by the people behind Target Distribution - an established Danish record merchant.
We are glad - more news on the release will follow.
Mar. 20th 2007 ATT: Cover art needed II
We have decided to push the vinyl design deadline a little to March 25th. So if you would like to have your artwork smothered all over the front of a beautifully packaged LP record by Decorate. Decorate. here's your chance!
We have uploaded a Photoshop-template for our LP cover and it is completely up to you to make the front cover. The template contains only one black line, 3 millimeters thick. Do with it exactly what you want! There are no limits whatsoever!
Feel free to put the band name and album title ('Normandie') on the cover if you have a creative idea as to how to use the typographic elements in a decorative manner. If not - just leave out the text elements and we will deal with that if we choose your artwork.
Remember to leave your signature in the corner so that you can show off to your friends should we choose your artwork.
All submissions will be treated with great gratitude and respect. And all serious submissions will be posted on the site. The best of the received covers will be used in the original first prints of the vinyl edition. If your artwork ends up on our records your name will appear in our press material and off course you will recieve a copy of the record. Unfortunately that's all we have to offer.
Download the template and send your artwork to cover@decoratedecorate.com no later than Sunday the 25th of March.
We are very much looking forward to recieve your submissions!
Download the template here... (PC: Right click, saves as - Mac: CTRL-click, save to desktop).
Mar. 16th 2007 ATT: Cover art needed
We are inches away from our debut release. And we need you to make the cover art for the vinyl editions!
We have uploaded a Photoshop-template for our 12 inch cover and it is completely up to you to make the front cover. The template contains only one black line, 3 millimeters thick. Do with it what you want.
The best of the received covers will be used in the original first prints of the vinyl edition. And all serious attempts will be published at our website. The artists of the covers that end up on the original will naturally receive a free copy of the record.
There are no limits to your creativity. "All associations are permitted". Just download the template and return it to us with your artwork on it no later than wednesday the 21st of March. Send it to cover@decoratedecorate.com.
Mar. 6th 2007 Turbulent days in Copenhagen
The last couple of days have been turbulent ones for Copenhagen. The streets have caught fire, violent words have been shed and building have lost their eyes. We are sad that no political solution was made to save Ungdomshuset which is held so dear by thousands of young and old people with beliefs in a multi cultural metropol.
We are thankful that we got to experience the magnificient atmosphere of the house when we played our supporting gig in november. Still we must remember that buildings do not create culture. People do. New venues will rise, new ideas will come to life and the spirit of Ungdomshuset will spread. Hopefully without violence from neither the protesters nor the police.
When the government closed Pusher Street at Christiania an activist group made street signs with "Pusher Street" on them and placed them above street signs throughout the city of Copenhagen - illustrating how the government was responsible for moving the drugs from a secure area out in the streets. Now people are making door signs with the word "Ungdomshuset" on them.
The release date is closing in. We are yet to confirm the specifics though since some details are still being discussed. It will be grand though. In the meantime you can enjoy a remix version of our song Karen made by DJ Dissimulate - avaliable at our myspace.
Take care. Imagine a building...
Decorate. Decorate.
Feb. 14th 2007 Vega-show announcement
We're happy to announce that we have been booked to play at BreakFAST Club, Lille Vega, Copenhagen on March 21st. On this evening we will perform alongside the marvellously evil Beta Satan (DK).
Feb. 13th 2007 Radio goodbye/record artwork
Since the beginning of December last year we have been at Det Elektriske Barometer chart and now our time is up. We want to thank everyone for voting on us and thus awarding us with five first places and two second places out of eight weeks. And we want to thank the hosts of the show for their really nice words on our song through the weeks. It is appreciated.
We have now decided on an artist to work on the cover art of our debut release. The artist is highly acclaimed painter Carl Johan Sennels who is part of Gallerie Asbæk in Copenhagen and is qualified from the Royal Danish Academy in 2004. He has been featured in several exhibitions in Denmark as well as abroad and has sold paintings to the National Danish Art Museum among others.
We are very happy that this unique artist decided to work with us. And we can not wait for you to see the results.
Feb. 7th 2007 Website launch - hooray, hooray!
Finally we have launched our new website. Welcome. This site will feature news and thoughts, music and media, shows and shots and we will update it as often as possible. Please take a couple of minutes to surf the site and let us know what you think of it.
We are in the final stages of the making of our debut release. We can't wait to show you the results - it will be splendid. We will reveal our collaborators soon plus all of the avaliable information. Expect a release within spring.
Two shows have recently been announced and more will follow in the near future.
We are currently at a 2nd place at Det Elektriske Barometer above the likes of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Arcade Fire. Thanks to everyone who helped us this far. We really appreciate the effort. Soon we will have a tour of Denmark to see all of you people and thank you personally. Please keep voting for us by visiting this link and choose 3 songs to send to barometer@dr.dk in an order of your choice. You can listen to an interview and a guest DJ appearance featuring Asbjørn here (show from Feb. 4th, 'time 2', in Danish).
